Job Description

Overall Job Purpose

You are responsible for the Quality control of the Tax functions within the client's product line. You manage the progress of client enquiries through the technical function of the business to drive the target revenue of the group. You are based in the office but are in a client faced role and will visit clients when required.

Responsibilities

  • Review tax claims prior to client acceptance and filing
  • Provide ongoing training and assistance on tax knowledge to the Account Managers
  • Provide Ad hoc support to the Technical Specialists on technical and financial queries
  • Respond to Accountants' queries on tax questions and filing preparations
  • Optimise claims where possible
  • Liaise with HMRC when required and support HMRC enquiries
  • Maintain a current knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation and guidelines for the full product suite
  • Assist with content for sales and marketing activities
  • Provide monthly feedback on technical observations with core Questions and Answers to drive continuous technical improvement in the business.
  • Record all activities in MS Dynamics

Essential

  • In possession of Professional Tax Qualifications
  • Someone with a solid understanding and experience of Research and Development tax credits; this is essential, and a minimum of five years' experience is required.
  • Someone who understands and has experience of Patent Box claims
  • Someone with experience of embedding standards into process
  • Someone with an understanding and development of Quality assurance process, to include client visits where appropriate
  • Able to use a standard office database and programmes
  • Able to communicate verbally with a good telephone manner and ability to handle incoming & outgoing calls
  • Able to prioritise all the activates required of you
  • Able to maintain records and filing
  • Able to Understand the issues around confidentiality and working with confidential information
  • Able to Multi-task and work under pressure
  • Someone who has Time Management Skills

Package Details

  • The salary guide for this role is between £60,000 to £75,000 DOE
