Job Description

Part Time Financial Controller

£300 - £400 per day

North East Leeds

Full time

The Business

My client is a family owned construction business with operations in North East Leeds.

Recently rectified operational issues have generated the need for a part time in-house accountant moving forward.

The business offers a 'no frills' working environment as is usually the case for construction companies. Otherwise, the owner's infectiously upbeat attitude and appetite for a well-placed joke will see you seamlessly integrated into the down to earth team in no time.

The Role

Spending 2-3 days in the business you will oversee all day to day financial transactions made by the in-house accounts assistant as well as offering them support and development where needed.

You will be responsible for producing monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and other management information required by the owner.

Aside from this you will also take an active involvement in monitoring the progress of major contracts; reviewing spend, cashflow, managing staged payments in conjunction with operational managers.

The Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified and an established part time Financial Controller with 2-3 days capacity per week.

You will be a true 'SME' business advisor; accustomed to dealing with straight talking owner managers and explaining financial concepts in an accessible manner.

Construction experience as well as exposure to invoice discounting are both non-negotiable requirements.

Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
