Interim Financial Controller
£250 - 350 per day
Full time - 3-6 month contract
My client is a highly acquisitive multisite business with a growing shared service centre based in York.
Due to 3 recent acquisitions the business requires an Interim Financial Controller to manage a team of 3 junior financial accountants and assist with ad hoc duties associated with the integration of the newly acquired businesses.
Reporting to the Head of Finance you will look after a region of sites each requiring financial support from your team of financial accountants.
Preparation of statutory accounts, monthly management accounts, VAT & tax submissions for multiple entities will form the core of your team's activities. Your role will be to review these submissions from your team and assist with any queries from each site.
Due to the growing nature of the company you will have an eye for efficiency and process to ensure that improvements can be made where ever possible.
The successful candidate will ideally be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or qualified by experience with a background in preparing financial accounts for SME businesses either in industry or practice.
You will be hands on in nature when managing your junior team and happy to make adjustments yourself to each set of accounts.
We're also looking for a calm and credible communicator; able to explain and resolve issues to operational managers with limited financial experience.
This is an extremely fast paced and busy environment so you must also have a proven track record in people management to ensure your team is motivated, on track and continually developing their skills.
