Job Description

GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR - WHOLESALE & MANUFACTURING - UP TO £120K

About us

The Ames Group of Companies are a division of the £1.5trn revenue Griffon Corporation, listed on NYSE. Ames recently acquired Kelkay, a hugely successful business based in Pollington, East Yorkshire as a platform to grow their business across Europe.

Having recently built a £10m business into a £300m group in Australia, Ames are well-positioned and experienced to achieve the same in UK & Europe.

The role

Newly-created, this is an opportunity to substantially grow a business via acquisition and organic growth. This is a leadership position where you will be exposed to all areas of the business, providing advice and guidance. Ultimately, you will be accountable for managing the accounting operations of the business whilst managing this growth, so it's not all shiny corporate finance meetings.

You will work closely with the Group CEO; fiercely ambitious and driven, he has built Kelkay from scratch and is now integrating his business into the more corporate model adopted by Ames. Your support & advice will be integral in this transition.

You will also report your progress to the Group CFO, based in Australia. Her priorities are to ensure that the internal reporting package is top-notch. She reports into the US where obviously SOX standards are critical. She needs comfort that you're highly competent & diligent.

You

Most likely ACA qualified, graduate calibre and an experienced Finance Director.

If you've worked with a US parent before then great.

You're a natural leader with gravitas. You care about your team and enjoy getting the best out of them.

You're very comfortable getting into the detail. This isn't a corporate role with a huge team already in place. There's constant ambiguity, things that aren't in place that need to be and you may have to step up and get them done on your own for now. You're flexible.

You can handle a fast-paced environment with pressures from all angles.

What you get

A salary reflective of the seniority of the position, with bonuses for a mixture of group performance and your part in that.

Mentoring from a highly-respected CFO in a world-renowned business.

A leading part to play in a multi-faceted success story.
