Job Description

A superb permanent Accounts Assistant opportunity has arisen for a large services company based in York. You will take full ownership of the transactional duties and report directly into the Financial Controller. The role will be based in York and you will have flexibility to work in the head office in East Leeds.

You will be responsible for;

  • All aspects of the sales ledger
  • Purchase ledger duties, match, batch and coding invoices onto Sage 200
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Managing customer payments
  • Cashiering
  • Reconciling suppliers statements
  • Payroll administration, dealing with time sheets
  • Assisting with month end duties
  • Company expense claims

Essential criteria:

  • An excellent attention to detail with the ability to work accurately under pressure
  • Have an enthusiastic and contentious attitude towards work
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office, including excel and outlook is essential
  • Have the ability to work under own initiative and also fit well into an existing team
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with a variety of colleagues
  • Prior experience of using sage 200 would also be an advantage

Remuneration package:

  • Salary £20,000-£24,000
  • Hours 9am-5pm
