Advice for Clients

Invest in the best people you can afford.  Even amongst junior staff. Especially amongst junior staff!  They underpin the whole of your finance function and provide the controls that instil confidence in the team.

And make sure you have the right people doing the right jobs.  Don’t get hung up on job titles.  We can help you with differences between a Finance Director and a Financial Controller so let us come and pick your brains on what you want your new recruit to do and we can find you suitable candidates.

Mark Raven

Finance Director

Mark has been involved in Woodrow Mercer since its formation in 2012.  He is an experienced Finance Director, having worked in a permanent and interim capacity at this level for over 25 years. In recent years he has also recruited for a number of large corporate and SME clients at both FD and FC level. Fiercely competitive, he loves the challenge of a Tough Mudder.


Neil Muffitt


With more than 25 years experience around board room tables, Neil believes that objectivity and an ability to challenge the status quo are essential for effective FDs. He currently recruits and manages the team of portfolio FDs and in his spare time has been known to tread the boards in the local amdram society.


Natalie McGregor

Associate Director

Having spent seven years with a blue-chip recruiter, Natalie has a strong track record in recruitment with experience of working across many sectors.  She now specialises in the recruitment of entry level and part/newly qualified finance roles and manages this division across the North of England. A keen runner and boxer, she has temporarily put her sporting pursuits to one side as she focuses her energies on her young family.


David Clark

Associate Director

David joined us in June 2017, having worked for Michael Page for 9 years.  For the last 4 he was business manager within their interim finance division in West Yorkshire, where he recruited across all industry sectors.  He will now continue to act as an interim specialist for senior finance appointments at qualified level across Yorkshire. David has built his reputation on a strong technical understanding of his clients and candidates needs, resulting in a high level of repeat business. Outside of work David is one of our sportier members of the team as a keen darts and poker player.


Ryan O'Toole

Associate Director

With over seven years experience having previously work for Venn Group and Michael Page, Ryan has joined Woodrow Mercer to set up a new temporary & permanent transactional finance team. In his spare time he plays a lot of football, attends boxing classes, sees his family and gets dragged around IKEA by other half!


Jenny Mayer

Senior Consultant

Jenny joins Woodrow Mercer Finance with 7 years of experience recruiting senior permanent appointments within both Accountancy & HR. Having spent time in both external agency and internal recruitment environments, she understands what everyone needs out of the recruitment process and makes sure everyone’s kept in the loop. Jenny will continue playing to her strengths recruiting for qualified roles on a permanent basis; specialising in Financial Controller & Finance Business Partner roles. Jenny is one of those rare recruiters that actually does have a genuine interest in getting to know people. Developing long-lasting relationships comes naturally to her, meaning her candidates and clients come back to her time and time again. Outside of work, Jenny works hard to afford her adventurous and exotic holidays as she has an extremely long bucket list of places she’s still yet to explore!


Suga Mahmood

Suga joins the organisation with 8 years of specialist recruitment experience. Having always specialised in interim recruitment, Suga is quick to grasp what you need and will find the best solution for you. Her approach is honest and open with a focus on delivering for her clients. Her success is built from strong candidate relationships who value her approach and her commitment to do her best. Outside of work, a mum to two superheroes who have absolutely no problems running rings around her!


Ross Wallace


With over 7 years' experience in recruitment Ross has earned himself a reputation for being mature, honest and pragmatic in his approach. Having spent the lion's share of his career in the legal arena, he knows the value of being thorough. This- combined with his personable character- has made him a favourite amongst clients. He now hopes to emulate this reputation in the finance market whilst specialising in the recruitment of part/newly qualified finance professionals. Outside of work, Ross can often be found at the gym, cycling his bike or getting out into the wild.​


Olivia Egan

Sales Support Manager

Olivia recently joined Woodrow Mercer in October 2018 and she has come on board to assist Sara Clark. Olivia has worked in FMCG recruitment for over 3 years working in the Sales Support team so is best suited to providing top class support to the transactional team! 


Niamh Hellewell

Associate Consultant

Having joined Woodrow Mercer Finance in January 2018, Niamh has previously worked as a Candidate Consultant assisting Natalie McGregor. Since this time, Niamh has worked hard to progress into becoming an Associate Consultant specialising in Transactional Finance Recruitment within the West & South Yorkshire regions. In Niamh’s spare time, she enjoys being active in the gym and spending time with her friends! ​


Jordan MacDonald

Associate Consultant

Jordan joined Woodrow Mercer in October 2020 after returning home from 2 years of work and travel down under. After starting his career as a Candidate Consultant in Sydney’s IT market, Jordan now specialises in the recruitment of finance professionals across Yorkshire for Woodrow Mercer’s Interim Division. Outside of work, Jordan can be found listening to podcasts, seeing friends and running his online music platform.​


Georgia Dutton

Candidate Consultant

Georgia has recently started an apprenticeship with Woodrow Mercer in February 2019. She will be spending her time in both our Leeds and Hull offices assisting Dave Clark and Emma Dutton within the financial recruitment division. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, and when she isn’t at work she’ll be found on a dancefloor​


Linda Garrett

Candidate Consultant

Linda joined Woodrow Mercer in 2019, after graduating from University where she studied Business and Management. Linda initially joined the business as a Resourcer for Senior Finance before progressing into an Associate Consultant, specialising in Transactional Finance for North & East Yorkshire. Outside of work, Linda likes to travel with friends and, unfortunately for Linda, spends her Saturday’s supporting Chesterfield Football Club.
